In order to make good prevention and control of air pollution in the central urban area, and perfect prevention and control facilities for air pollution in the central city, on September 22nd, on the basis of 2 multiple-functional dust-suppression vehicles at present, the municipality purchased another 3, which have been put into use.

Multiple-functional dust-suppression vehicle consists of four parts: long-distance misting sprayer, engine, water-storage tank and vehicle chassis. It is referred to as "mist cannon vehicle" due to the reason that it looks like a cannon bore in appearance. Spraying range of the "mist cannon vehicle" is more than 80 meters at the farthest, and its maximum covering area reaches 15,700 square meters. After the spraying, there are fine mist particles falling in the air, which makes people feel that the air is fresh immediately. Work efficiency of each multiple-functional dust-suppression vehicle is 30 times of that of common water-spraying vehicle, and it is water-saving as well, which is able to effectively relieve downfall of air quality and mist and haze weather caused by winter drought.

It is reported that, after the new dust-suppression vehicles come into operation, it could be ensured that the water-spraying operation will cover main trunk roads of the urban area as well as whole section of No. 312 national highway within the urban area, and conduct 10 times of water and mist spraying every day, which will re-inject fresh "blood" to dust suppression and removal work of Pingliang urban area, and further improve overall level of environment and sanitation within the urban area.
